A Letter from our Director-
When I was 16 my doctor told me I had Multiple Sclerosis.....
Looking around, I found that young people like me facing that kind of news didn’t have any resources available to help - resources to teach them the skills needed to live with MS, help them cope or help them live a normal teen’s or young adult’s life. My friends and I have embarked on an ambitious journey – MS United for Young Adults. MS United for Young Adults is geared specifically to supporting the thousands of young people, under the age of 35, who face the challenges of their future and living daily with MS. MS United for Young Adults is funded through the DAYY Foundation, a 501(c)(3) foundation established solely for the support of our group. With your help, we reach out to all young people stricken with MS. We provide classes in living skills, education regarding the latest medicines and research, tapping community resources, life coaching and most of all, providing the hope that comes from supporting one another.
We are the new generation of MS. New drugs, therapies and new hope push us on. Study the faces of those captured in photos in this presentation. All but one of our board members - all young, vital professionals representing many vocations, have MS. We challenge you to give. Support us in our endeavor to change people’s views of MS and help us on our mission to help young people with MS everywhere live happy, productive and meaningful lives.
Most respectfully,
Jayme A. Maestas
